Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Performance Ratings

Although we have high expectations for this tire, we should note that its ratings could change significantly at any moment.

This is because it only has just over 200,000 reported miles. In practical terms, this means that its rank in the Street/Sport Truck Summer tires segment could drop from 1 out of 9 to second or third place. This is not a far-fetched thought, considering that the second-place tire has nearly 7 million reported miles and its ratings are right on the heels of the Latitude Sport 3.

With that said, we can move on to review this tire’s ratings in different categories. For your convenience, we have provided direct links to each of these categories.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Dry Performance

Dry Performance Ratings

Dry Overall

9.7

Cornering Stability

9.7

Dry Traction

9.7

Steering Response

9.6

The outstanding dry performance comes as no surprise whatsoever. We are talking about the OE tire of the amazing Porsche Macan Turbo. If you are looking for a tire for your SUV with an unbeatable grip in both straights and curves, this is the tire for you.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Wet Performance

Wet Performance Ratings

Wet Overall

9.0

Hydroplaning Resistance

8.6

Wet Traction

9.3

Michelin has strived to improve the wet traction of this generation of the Latitude Sport. To do this, it used a new tread compound that, together with its asymmetric pattern, has given it an amazing resistance to hydroplaning and unsurpassed traction even in adverse weather conditions. If you are concerned about handling on wet roads, this may be the solution you have been looking for.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Comfort Performance

Comfort Performance Ratings

Overall Comfort

8.3

Ride Quality

8.2

Noise

8.4

Michelin knows its audience very well. That is why it has used the most advanced technology at its disposal to make this one of the quietest tires of its kind. While on-road performance is important for sport SUVs, so is the driving experience. In this regard, it’s hard to beat the ride quality.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Treadwear Performance

Treadwear Performance Ratings

Treadwear

6.4

To properly interpret the Treadwear rating, it is vital to keep two key aspects in mind. On the one hand, this is an OE tire, which generally means that durability is not necessarily a priority.

The second has to do with the low rolling resistance of this tire. “Green” tires that favor fuel economy tend to last less than conventional tires. That said, this tire’s score of 6.4 is more than adequate for its segment.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Warranty

Treadlife Warranty

6-year warranty or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first. This warranty is halved when the rear and the front tires are different in size.

Uniformity Warranty

Complaints regarding these tires’ uniformity must be subscribed in the first year of use or the first 2/32″ of wear.

Workmanship / Materials Warranty

Michelin provides an amazing 6-year warranty against defects in workmanship or materials. Moreover, it also offers free tire replacement for the first year, 2/32″ wear, or 25% wear.

Road Hazard Warranty

Unfortunately, none.

Manufacturer Special Warranty

This tire comes with a special warranty consisting of 60-day satisfaction (in which you can exchange the tire for a BFGoodrich or Uniroyal equivalent), and a 3-year flat changing service.

Tire Rack Road Hazard Warranty

On top of the tread life warranty offered by Michelin, this tire features Tire Rack’s leading warranty that covers refunds of up to $40 for repairs per tire per occurrence. Moreover, if the tire suffers non-repairable damage within the first 2 years, a refund of the original purchase price or replacement purchase price (whichever is less) will be made.

Although this has a modest Treadlife Warranty, it has the backing of Michelin and Tire Rack, including the generous special warranty that few tires of its type can offer.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Specs & Options

OE tires generally do not provide good market coverage. Fortunately, that is not the case with this tire. This fabulous tire is available in sizes ranging from 17 inches to 21 inches and tire widths from 225 to 315. If we talk about its UTQG, it is rated 220 AA A, which is normal for tires with low rolling resistance. To learn more about the UTQG, read this article.

This product offers impressive market coverage in the Street/Sport Truck Summer tires segment.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 Reviews

As explained above, this tire does not have enough reviews to draw statistically valid conclusions. However, by reading the few reviews available, we can confirm that the durability of these tires seems to be between 20,000 and 30,000 miles (depending on maintenance and driving style).

We were also able to verify that the tire’s performance in both wet and dry conditions is satisfactory, on par with a tire designed for high-performance SUVs.

All in all, the huge number of positive reviews make it a valid choice for drivers of sporty SUVs who require a tire that delivers performance and comfort in equal measure.
