Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus Performance Ratings

One of the most relevant aspects of a tire’s performance is the total miles reported in the drivers' reviews. Fortunately, the Pilot Sport A / S Plus has enough reviews to back up its astonishing ratings.

In other words, its ranking of 6 out of 29 in the Ultra High-Performance All-Season segment is solid.

Given that this version of the Pilot Sport is aimed at high-performance vehicles, it is not surprising that it has such a firm grip on dry roads. The combination of the aggressive asymmetrical tread pattern and its advanced silica-rich compound make this tire one of the best for modern sports cars.

Michelin takes the safety of all its tires, especially high-performance tires, seriously. That is why wide circumferential grooves were used on this tire to ensure high resistance to hydroplaning and excellent wet traction. If you need a set of tires with an impressive performance in the wet, this is one of your best alternatives.

The combination of Michelin's Helio+ and Extreme Silica Technologies, together with its sophisticated tread gives this tire a level of traction suitable for driving on light snow roads. While it doesn't have enough grip for spirited driving during the winter, the Pilot Sport Plus gives you predictable braking on roads with less than an inch of snow.

Thanks to the Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology used in this tire, the contact area of the tread with the road is exceptional. Add in its robust internal structure, and the result is excellent durability, even under extreme driving conditions. If you are looking for a tire that will give you durability even if you are driving at high speed, then this is one of your best options.

Moreover, if the tire suffers non-repairable damage within the first 2 years, a refund of the original purchase price or replacement purchase price (whichever is less) will be made.

Despite being a tire aimed at spirited drivers, Michelin offers an excellent 45,000 mile or 6-year manufacturer's warranty on this tire. Add to that Tire Rack's generous Road Hazard Warranty, and you get an offer that's hard to refuse.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus Specs & Options

Given that this is one of Michelin's best-selling tires, it is no surprise that its market coverage includes the most popular sizes from 17 inches to 20 inches in rim widths from 225 to 285. Similarly, we are not surprised by its UTQG of 500 AA A since it is a high-performance tire. To learn more about UTQG, read this article.

If you drive a sports car, sports crossover, or high-performance sedan, chances are you will get the right tire size for your car without a hitch.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus Reviews

After analyzing user reviews, several conclusions can be drawn.

First of all, everything that has been discussed up to this point is confirmed. According to most drivers, the Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus provides impressive grip in both wet and dry conditions. In fact, some of the drivers comment that it is difficult to tell the difference when braking in dry or wet at average speed.

Regarding the behavior of this tire in winter, most of the reviews mention that, at low speed, the traction in light snow is adequate.

Finally, regarding tread life, the comments are mixed. A good number of users have exceeded 50k miles without issues; however, most spirited drivers begin to notice a performance loss after 40k miles.

All in all, you could say that this tire has a very similar performance to summer tires, with the advantage that they can handle light snow relatively well.
